Sales Prospecting - Simple Steps that Work - Melbourne and Sydney

The first Intelligent Connections Executive Forum for the year was based on the topic of Sales Prospecting and it received an overwhelmingly positive response from Partners.

We had close to 50 attendees present for the session which we held at the very stylish and impressive Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

Our guest speakers, Doug Gibson, Sales Director from Acxiom, along with Matt Skinner, Managing Director and Brett Venables, Sales Director from Leadwire addressed some very important and interesting points in relation to sales prospecting.

Our speakers discussed the current trends in relation to sales prospecting and shared their knowledge and expertise on the subject. Attendees were given valuable ideas which they can now apply to their own business.

The session was then repeated at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth with guest speakers Richard Harris from Acxiom and Matt Skinner and Brett Venables from Leadwire.

A thank you must go out to the team at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth for assisting us in running yet another successful Collaboration and to our representatives from Acxiom and Leadwire for sharing their knowledge and running a fantastic presentation for our Partners.

Customer Engagement – Servicing the 21st Century  - Melbourne

The final Intelligent Connections Executive Forum for the year was held on Wednesday 2nd December at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. It was a great session, with 40 attendees present for our fascinating guest speaker, Graeme Alford from ICMI. Graeme ran an intriguing presentation filled with great examples and ideas.  

Graeme Alford is an insightful and entertaining speaker who shared his thoughts on Customer Engagement and Customer Service based on his years of experience in the field.

Graeme, the Inaugural President of The Australian Customer Service Association discussed various aspects of Customer Service during his presentation, focusing on a particular case study which demonstrated how to implement great customer and staff interaction.

The session was a huge success and Partners walked away with great ideas along with many 1:1 Connection opportunities.

Topic: Getting the best return for your Online Marketing

Speaker: Darren P. Vowels, Internet Marketing Consultant from Reach Local

Dates: Tuesday 20th October 2009 in Melbourne and then again on Friday 13th November 2009 in Sydney

Venue: Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and Sofitel Sydney Wentworth

Intelligent Connections have run 2 successful Executive Forums at the prestigious and impressive Sofitel Melbourne and Sofitel Sydney. Guest speaker, Darren P. Vowles shared his knowledge and expertise on the topic of Online Marketing.

Darren Vowles works as an Internet Marketing Consultant for Reach Local, an Ambassador partner of Google, Yahoo and Ninemsn advising organisations on the use of the web for marketing and advertising.

Darren consults on placing companies on all of the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo7, and Ninemsn, covering 97% of all online searches. As well as obtaining a prominent position on these major search engines for the organisations that they work with, Reach Local can track all the results, including web events, emails and even the time, date and duration of every phone call generated by the campaign.

The Intelligent Connections Partners who attended the presentation received insight on the following points;

  • Effective ways to achieve ROI advertising on the major search engines
  • How to improve Web Presence to convert sales
  • How to achieve real and transparent sales from internet advertising
  • How to track all results (down to the time, date and duration of every phone call generated by the    campaigns)

The presentaiton resulted in Partners obtaining knowledge in the ever changing area of Online Marketing and many 1:1 Connections were established due to the high level of interaction at the session.

Creativity and Innovation – Important to Business Today? - Melbourne and Sydney                                 

Bill Jarrard and Jennifer Goddard from Mindwerx International ran an informative and thought provoking Interactive Presentation which examined the relevance and importance of Creativity and Innovation to business today in Melbourne on 17th September 2009.

Bill Jarrard then repeated his presentation in Sydney on 15th October 2009. Both sessions resulted in positive feedback from Partners who attended.

Our speakers addressed issues such as;

  • The challenge of recognising Innovation in action
  • The challenge of focusing and empowering Creativity in business
  • The importance of Creativity and Innovation today

Our presenters were able to alleviate confusion on the shifting definitions of Innovation and guests walked away with knowledge on the nature of Creative Thinking.

Along with the session being informative, providing Partners with valuable thoughts and ideas, there were also many 1:1 Connections that were established.

Effective Media Spend and ROI Across Channels - Melbourne and Sydney

Speakers: Nick Cutler from Custom Made Media, an expert in the field of Media Channels and Daryl Talbot, Managing Director of WTFN

A repeat of the Collaboration held in Melbourne last July, Intelligent Connections™ Partners Nick Cutler and WTFN ran a successful Executive Forum focusing on Media Channels. The session was held at the Ricoh Print Innovation Centre in Sydney.

Both Nick and Daryl covered various aspects of the Media and discussed the current market as well as future trends.

Daryl discussed the following:

  • What is Branded Content?
  • What is the difference between Branded Content and Advertorials?
  • How do sponsors get involved in Branded Content?

Partners walked away with:

  • Sound knowledge of what works in media today.
  • Ideas on how to use Media Channels to benefit their own business
  • Ideas on how to implement all the discussed strategies
  • Many Connection prospects after the session

Co –Branded Promotion: What Works? held at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

Intelligent Connections ran a productive Learning Circle in one of the impressive boardrooms at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins based on the topic of Co-Branded Promotion. Partners who participated in the session were able to explore ways to use co-branding to their advantage to assist them in generating business. Partners discussed ideas and shared examples of successful co-branding campaigns.

The discussion gave Partners the opportunity to;

- Explore and gain a stronger understanding of how to use co-branded promotion to its full potential

- Use the ‘thinking power’ and experiences of other Partners to come up with ideas on how to enhance business using co-branded promotion

Due to the use of the Zing technology provided by Mindwerx International, we were able to collate the information received and discussed during the session.

Effective Loyalty Programs held at PricewaterhouseCoopers

(with Adam Posner from Directivity present, an expert in the field who shared his thoughts and experiences on the subject)

PricewaterhouseCoopers recently hosted an Intelligent Connections™ Learning Circle on Effective Loyalty Programs. Representatives from Directivity, EAE and NAB acted as specialist Partners and contributed their experience and knowledge throughout the session.

Each Partner submitted a loyalty program challenge relevant to their company prior to the Collaboration. Challenge topics included:

  • What criteria should I use to help me choose a loyalty program and determine the right amount to spend?
  • How do I create an effective loyalty program for a professional services firm?
  • How do I have a seamless loyalty program that includes both online and offline stores?
  • How do I create loyalty amongst past clients without discounting the next sale?
  • What are the key success factors for driving awareness and take-up by employees?

Addressing these challenges provoked lively discussion between Partners. With the help of Zing technology, a large amount of thought leadership on this topic is now available through the output document.

Digital Online Marketing Learning Circle held at Sofitel Werribee Mansion
(with Darren P. Vowels from Reach Local present, an expert in the field who shared his thoughts and experiences on the subject)

Intelligent Connections along with host Partner, Sofitel Werribee Mansion ran a successful Learning Circle focusing on the topic of Digital Online Marketing.

With all Partners engaging and sharing their thoughts they were all able to explore and gain a stronger understanding of how to drive Digital Online Marketing to its full potential. Ideas on various strategies and tactical implementation were discussed.  Partners walked away with some ideas and knowledge on how to improve their business, and stronger relationships with other attendees.

Held in one of the prestigious boardrooms at the Sofitel Mansion, the stunning surroundings only enhanced the experience of our Partners who were also attended a lavish dinner compliments of the Sofitel following the session. Selected Partners were invited to stay overnight with a guest and enjoy the hospitably that the Sofitel Werribee Mansion has to offer.

Held at the stylish Freshwater Place office complex which is the Melbourne based home of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Intelligent Connections ran an informative Learning Circle on the topic of pricing, focusing on the challenges that businesses face in today’s market.

Partners were able to share ideas and learn what works well in relation to pricing and use each other’s ‘thinking power’ to problem solve specific challenges faced in current business

Christmas Entertainment Celebration - ICMI Luncheon

ICMI held a Corporate Development Luncheon at the Palladium Ballroom, Crown Towers Hotel to celebrate Christmas and the festive season.

Perceptionist Tom Berger, together with a very special act, were present on the day to entertain guests, resulting in a very enjoyable afternoon. 

Special guests and celebrities along with the Intelligent Connections Directors and some of our partners enjoyed yet another  fantastic ICMI Luncheon.

Lamborghini Car Launch/Ed Hardy Fashion Show Case

Lamborghini held a stylish event at their prestigious showroom in Chapel Street, South Yarra with the assistance of Domain Chandon and Pro Light and Sound. The fine wine and sparkly champagne provided by Chandon proved to be very popular with guests while the colour and ambience in the room was enhanced by Pro Light’s creativity.

In conjunction with the Ed Hardy Fashion Label, Lamborghini successfully launched their latest vehicle to a very entertained audience. Some of the Intelligent Connections team had the opportunity to attend this fabulous event, along with some of our Partners and we all had a fabulous time.
